This narrative doesn't fit the profile of our marriage at all. We met in our early 30s, married 10 years later, and immediately had two kids (the clock wasn't on our side). Throughout, we always set aside time for dates, making liberal use of babysitters and grandparents. At one point, my wife was hanging out after music class with a bunch of other moms. They were all complaining about their difficult or nonexistent sex lives. My wife was silent until they finally turned to her and said, "Well, what about you"? She was slightly embarrassed about being put on the spot, but responded, "Oh, we're fine." We are now around 70 and still crazy after all these years.
