I had just done a 5:30a radio show from my hotel in Laguna Nigel. The show was in Boston. Ten minutes later, the first plane hit. I was supposed to fly north to San Jose to lay off an employee in person. By the time I went to retrieve my car, the ramp rats were talking. Before I got to the airport, the FAA shut down all flights. I went back to my hotel, where I remained for the next five days. Not once did I look at a TV screen, and for that I’m grateful.
